The Clarke County Sheriff's
Office and DARE America proudly salute this month's Hometown Hero
--Corporal Kenneth Straughter.
Corporal Straughter has taught
DARE for five years at Barnett Shoals Elementary School, Chase
Street, Fourth Street, Gaines, Timothy and , Winterville. He has
also taught the DARE Middle School Curriculum at Burney Harris
Lyons, W.R. Coile, and Hillsman.
He is certified to teach the
Parents Curriculum as well.
Corporal Straughter is on the
Georgia's DARE Training Staff and is a much valued DARE Mentor.
Corporal Straughter is a
Georgia Teens Ride With P.R.I.D.E. (Parents Reducing Incidents of
Driver Error) Instructor, Master Trainer, and Car Safety Seat
Technician. He trains other law enforcement and public safety
community members in this important concept. He checks seats and
conducts classes at St Mary's Hospital for new mothers.
Corporal Straughter also
participates in many Personal/Community organizations that work
toward the philanthropic goals of helping every aspect of our
community from the young to the elderly and all in between.
The Clarke County Sheriff's
Office is proud to have Corporal Kenneth Straughter as a valuable
member of their staff. He exemplifies what it means to be a
Hometown Hero and a shining example for others to follow.
